Aguada beach is situated in the North of Goa. It is quiet a frequently visited beach. The tourists flock to Aguada beach to catch the magnificient view of the Aguada Fort. The fort of Aguada was built by the Portuguese to control the entry of the enemy into river mandovi and to protect old goa from attacks. This fort presently houses the central jail. At the centre of the fort is a circular lighthouse tower which was built in 1864.
Fort Aguada Hotel Complex is a superb hotel that is built on the cliff around the Aguada Fort. The hotel has been constructed in three parts, the upper reaches of the hillside consist of expensive cottages, the fort jutting out to sea, and a delightful goan village with individual cottages. Besides this aguada beach also has cafes, vendors selling everything from Kashmiri carpets to massages and a good range of water sports is offered here to tourist.
It is better to arrange for your own means of transport while traveling to Aguada beach. You can hire a taxi or a motorbike. A few buses can also drop you to Aguada beach from Panaji and Mapusa. Another beach that you can visit on your way to Aguada beach is the Sinquerim beach which is 4 kms away.
