Another goan beach is the Bambolim beach. It is 7 kms from the main capital Panaji. This beach is most preferred by locals rather than tourists. It is a small, clean and a very quiet beach which is mostly undiscovered. The beach is carpeted with mother-of-pearl and other shells which makes it a haven for shell collectors. Thick coconut grooves line the beach and provide shade and privacy. It is nice to have a cozy picnic out here. The majority of the people here are Hindus and Catholics and are very loving and quiet natured people.

There are many things that you can see while on the way to Bambolim beach. There is the famous Bambolim cross where a large crowd of Christian devotees come to offer prayers and seek blessings. Then there is the Goa Medical college at Bambolim. There is also the campus of the Goa university where students from all over Goa come for further education.
