Candolim beach is a North goan beach. Mapusa is the nearest city to Candolim beach and it is 15 kms travel to this beach from mapusa. It can also be reached from Panaji. There are a number of hotels and restaurants that have filled up this place. A number of shops and showrooms are seeen selling different brands of clothes, jewellery and handicrafts which are brought from all over the country. This place is mostly visited between December to May. In the later summer candolim beach gets very crowded with foreigners as well as domestic tourists.
Candolim beach is very famous since it is the birth place of Abbe Faria the father of hypnotism. There are also many festivals which are celebrated by the Christian communities.
